The #40 is made of vegetable tanned leather - the most ancient, most eco-friendly tanning method available. The vegetable tan process uses plants and tree bark to achieve the colour, and tan the leather. Over time, the leather will develop a rich patina. It will absorb all of the scratches and scars along the way, and become darker as it ages.
